There is rather exciting news to share with you this month. Hellen van Rees is happy to announce she has been chosen by Vogue Italia to be part of the collaborative project between S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 contest and Vogue Italia.
The essence of this promising project is the discovery of new talents from the worlds of food and fashion. Last year S. Pellegrino launched the best chef contest, titled S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015, to scout the best talent among young chefs, representing different regions of the world. The 20 finalists of the S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 were then presented with a great opportunity to collaborate with 20 emerging fashion designers selected by Vogue Italia, all with the aim of competing for the Best Chef/Designer Couple Prize by bringing together young emerging talents from the areas of food and fashion.
The 20 chef/designer couples will represent 20 different regions of the world in this contest. Hellen van Rees will be representing the Benelux area together with the S. Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 finalist Alex Joseph of Rouge Tomate in Brussels.
Hellen van Rees and Alex Joseph will work together on the interpretation of his signature dish with Hellen van Rees’s fashion creation. Ultimately, the fashion creation will be presented alongside the chef’s dish at the final event.
Hellen van Rees and Alex Joseph will compete against other couples and the winner will be chosen by a jury consisting of the world’s most renowned chefs. In addition, the 20 chef/designer couples who reached the final will be judged by famous guests from the fields of Journalism and PR.
The event will take place in Milan, on the 26 of June during Expo Milano 2015. The final winner of the contest will take home the prize for the Best Chef/Designer Couple 2015.
