Dutch Design Week

The Dutch Desiugn Week (DDW) is a yearly highlight on the calendar, this year is no different, though it’s mostly digital due to COVID-19. Hellen van Rees is present at several locations, with several projects.

The results of the Goinng Circular, Going Cellulose project is displayed in a virtual showroom. GCGC is aimed at collaboration between researchers, designers and companies for a more sustainable and circular fashion and textile sector. Hellen worked extensively with Enschede Textielstad to create modular garments made from faulty/waste materials. The digital showroom includes works by: Michelle Baggerman, Buro BelĂ©n, Els Bugter, Hellen van Rees & Unseam, and can be viewed HERE Next to the digital showroom there’ll be a live podcast with the designers and professors Danielle Bruggeman & Jeroen Op ‘t Eynde. This’ll be on Thursday the 22nd between 9:30-11:30.

The FashionTechFarm, where ByWire’s founder Marina Toeters is stationed, will host a series of exhibitions end mostly digital workshops. Hellen has some examples of her work from her Fashion collection on display there! Check the poster below for the workshops and other activities:
